Accessibility Statement
The 384th Bomb Group Museum is committed to making our Museum and displays as accessible as possible. We want all visitors to feel welcome and to be able to enjoy learning about the 384th Bombardment Group, the people and the airfield.
Visiting the Museum
The Museum is currently open on our advertised ‘Open Days’ only, please see the Events section of our website for further information.
There is no access allowed to site outside of these dates without prior permission from ourselves.
Our museum is located off the Grafton Underwood to Brigstock road. Due to our location being remote, there is no post code but please use the Find Us section of our website for exact directions.
Before visiting, please contact us if you have questions about access or would like to discuss any adjustments that may help you enjoy your visit to us.
- Access to Site: The Museum site is based on the part of the original airfield that was built around 85 years ago, which then stood neglected for several decades. Although we continue to work across the site to improve conditions, access to some areas will be difficult at the current point of the Museum project. However, the Visitor Centre and Heritage Trail are fully accessible. Currently due to the design of the building, the Operations Block may not be suitable for all wheelchairs due to narrow corridors.
- Parking and Drop-Off: Drop off can be arranged directly outside of the Visitor Centre. A dedicated parking area is located close by.
- Toilets: We have accessible toilet facilities available on site on our Event and Open Days.
- Seating: Seating is available within the Visitor Centre.
- Lighting, Sound and Displays: There are no specific light or sound effects in place within the Visitor Centre. Some displays will contain small text. We do not currently have the facility to offer an audio guide. With prior notice, however, it is possible to arrange a personal guide that can talk through the exhibits in detail.
- Assistance Dogs: Accepted anywhere on site.
Please contact us at 384bgmuseum@gmail.com before your visit. We will do our best to provide information and discuss how we can best support your needs when you visit.

We aim to make our website usable by as many people as possible. For example, you should be able to:
