Volunteering with the 384th Bombardment Group Museum
There may be many reasons why you find yourself on our website today – maybe your interest is the American 8th Air Force in World War 2, or aviation in general, or you may even live locally and are intrigued by the history and effect of the airfield in the county. If you do indeed live in the vicinity, why not consider becoming a volunteer?
Our project is 100% operated and run by volunteers. The team have varied backgrounds, skills and interests, and will have many reasons as to why they became involved themselves – this diversity has developed a close-knit team, with a rich skill set and knowledge.
You may feel you have no relevant skills, but this is never the case – the jobs to be done are varied, from working on the site and helping with renovation work, grass cutting or painting, to research projects or assisting at one of our ‘on the road’ exhibitions or guided walks, there really is a job for everyone. As we approach the point of the Visitor Centre opening, we’ll also need volunteers to help oversee and run the centre on open days.
With workdays on Saturdays throughout the year or smaller groups on site during weekdays, we are always welcome to new volunteers. If you feel this is something you’d like to get involved with, we’d love to have you along – please get in touch with us for more information.
