The Museum is delighted to be able to offer the chance to attend a talk on the 384th Bombardment Group and the airfield of RAF Grafton Underwood, on the evening of Thursday 23rd October, hosted by Matt Smith.
Matt has been very busy during the year delivering his talk on the history of the 384th and airfield to a variety of local groups and clubs, the Museum is delighted to be able to host its own evening with Matt at the village hall in Grafton Underwood on Thursday 23rd October.
Covering the early history of the airfield and the 384th's arrival, and its subsequent activities for the remainder of the war, this is an informative talk for anyone interested in the background of events at Station 106. The history and legacy of the airfield, and the 384th are rich and filled with a multitude of personal stories - this gives us the opportunity to share some of these. Matt's talk will be supported by a variety of images during his presentation.
Entry fee is £5 per person payable on the evening, this includes a hot drink at the interval. Doors open from 6.45pm, starting at 7pm until around 9pm.
Funds are split equally between supporting the Museum and also the Village Hall, without their support events like these would not be possible.
